WELCOME TO THE TROPICS!
GUAM FACTS…GUAM YESTERDAY…GUAM TODAY…. EXPERIENCE GUAM

Where is Guam located? The tropical island of Guam is America’s gateway to the Western Pacific and Asia. Guam is geographically located just 1,500 miles south of Japan, 1,400 miles east of the Philippines, 2,000 miles north of Australia and 3,800 miles west of Hawaii. Guam shares the same time zone with Sydney, Australia.

Why does America’s day begin on Guam?
After the 1944 liberation of Guam by American forces, the island became a Territory of the United States and all Guamanians became U.S. citizens 1950. Today, Guam remains a territory of the United States and shares most of the rights of Americans, uses the dollar as its currency as well as the U.S. Postage Service and flies the U.S. flag proudly. Located 2,500 miles west of the international date line, Guam is one day ahead of Hawaii and the other 49 states. So, America’s day always begins on the island of Guam!

Who lives on Guam? This Pacific island is truly a melting pot. Even more than Hawaii, Guam is the ethnic mixing bowl of the Pacific. In addition to the local Chamorro population, the island is home to a large number of Japanese, Filipinos, Micronesian islanders, Chinese, Koreans, Vietnamese, Indians, Thais, and mainland Americans from many states. Though Guam was known for its large U.S. military presence, during the past decade the military has significantly reduced its personnel and presence on Guam. Today’s island "community" is populated with visitors from all over the world and all walks of life.

What’s Guam Like? This island is a resort and sport destination for the thrill seeker and adventure traveler. You’ll find a tropical island experience with picturesque beaches, clifflines and perfect weather conditions. Guam provides the ideal playground for those who’ve always dreamed of visiting paradise.

What can I do? The Guam adventure offers scuba diving, para-sailing, deep sea fishing, submarine rides, jetskiing, water parks, hiking, biking, golfing, sightseeing, cultural tours, island style dining, duty free shopping, romantic sunset cruises and much, much more!
