innovative kit includes all the hardware and software needed to painlessly
transfer all the data from an old hard drive to a new hard drive in 3 easy
steps.
If that's not enough, EZ Upgrade transforms the old hard drive from the
notebook into a portable Hi-Speed USB 2.0 external backup and/or storage
solution.
EZ Upgrade includes: Apricorn's EZ Gig II Data Transfer Utility, a Hi-Speed
USB 2.0 hard drive enclosure, (USB 1.1 compatible) a 1-meter USB cable, 1
PS/2 auxiliary power cable and 1 AC adapter (if additional power is
required).
EZ Upgrade is all you will need to easily transfer everything - data,
applications, documents, address books, email, settings, OS, and preferences
- from the old hard drive to a new drive, in 3 easy steps.
First, connect the hardware by sliding the new hard drive into the EZ
Upgrade enclosure and connecting to the notebook's USB port. Second, run EZ
Gig II's cloning utility by booting to the CD. Lastly, install the new hard
drive into the notebook. That's it -you're finished!
Once the new drive is installed, the old drive can be used in EZ Upgrade's
Hi-Speed USB 2.0 enclosure for external storage. When used with EZ Gig II,
the external drive becomes a state-of-the-art backup solution.
The EZ Gig II Data Transfer Utility that ships with EZ Upgrade is comprised
of two different modules: Clone EZ and Image EZ.
Clone EZ creates an exact clone of a hard drive and is perfect for upgrading
hard drives, or for a creating a Disaster Recovery clone - the ultimate
backup solution.
Image EZ is an ideal backup tool. Image EZ creates a compressed "image" of
an entire hard drive, or an individual partition of a hard drive. At its
maximum setting, Image EZ can compress data to less than 1/2 its original
size, allowing backups to be made to a smaller hard drive, or multiple
backups to a large hard drive.
Image EZ provides password protection for backup images, and a comments
field so each image can be labeled and easily identified. Image EZ also has
a File Editor that allows editing or restoration of individual files or
folders.
