Audio & Video Data from the TOTAL SOLAR ECLIPSE of August 99. The eclipse combined with an eleven year high point of sunspot activity, solar coronal mass ejections and a unique visual phenomena occurring across the landscape. With 6 Camera’s, a solar probe to record light, heat and electromagnetic data from the sun as it passed through its umbral states and the recording of Very Low Frequency radio emissions we broadcast this data live across the World Wide Web. As Events unravelled it was plain to see that cloud would compromise some of our camera positions, however we DID capture totality on a single camera stationed at Newquay the north coast of Cornwall. Following our days transmission we learned that the site we had been broadcasting via had received in the region of 250,000 hits on the day of Totality prior to our ISP’s server crashing! With a further 250,000 from September 99 to April 2000. The TOTALITY ROM is that days events with Photographs, Videoclips of the project and the Total eclipse of the Sun as well as VLF radio emissions from the solar winds on the day. Featuring Midi Artists: Nick Harpley and Dave Lawrence and including the full video and audio of the TOTAL ECLIPSE. On 11th August we made history. No one has ever done what we did. We have already been requested to write an academic paper based on our work and experiments over the days leading up to and including Totality. This ROM captures everything we did. |
